Workshop on “Local and Community Networks”

Within the project “Wireless Community Networks: A Novel Techno-Legal Approach”
funded by the University of Trento, we are happy to announce a workshop on 

“Local and Community Networks“

 

The workshop will bring together researchers, public institutions and companies that work on connectivity in Italy and abroad. 

 

We understand local and community networks as infrastructures for digital communication, alternative to typical and mainstream approaches – such as Internet Service Providers’ ones – that resemble a scaled-down Internet and are used to interconnect a community of people who share distinctive goals and motivations.

The workshop will consist of two parts. 

A first, introductory part of the workshop will involve people of public institutions, with the aim to raise awareness on local and community networks. (The working language will be Italian)

The second part of the workshop will instead focus on presentations by academics illustrating their research on the topic. (The working language will be English)
