STUDENT PAPER SERIES OF THE TRENTO LAWTECH RESEARCH GROUP

Why a Student Paper Series

Law is a science deeply intertwined with language, and language is a technology, the technology of thinking. For these reasons the work of Trento LawTech, in the several fields of research investigated by the research group, often come across with issues concerning language. Not surprisingly a specific area of interest of Trento Lawtech is the one described under the label of “legal education and didactic technologies”.

The teaching activities carried on by the Trento Lawtech Research Group members, being the direct result of the researches developed within the group, require a constant focus on the young minds who are moving the first steps in the world of legal research and legal thinking. A key element of this focus is the ability to transfer to  the students the skills related to language, and among these, more specifically, the skills required to write a research paper.

The Trento LawTech Student Paper Series was conceived in order to present and publish selected examples of this interaction. The series host a selection both of papers written by J.D. candidates during university courses held by Trento LawTech members, and of more structured essays, which are refined versions of final dissertations written (under the supervision of Trento LawTech members) by students who now hold the title of Juris Doctor, and who are not necessarily interested in a Ph D or in pursuing other initial steps of an academic career.
